Concrete Driveways in Boston & Lincolnshire

Concrete driveways are the workhorses of Lincolnshire: unbeatable strength for the money, no joints to weed, and a lifespan measured in decades when the base and mix are right. We dig out failed drives, relay cracked concrete and pour new, one of our recent concrete relays earned a 10/10 Checkatrade review for both the work and the care taken with the customer.

Why concrete still earns its place

For heavy vehicles, motorhomes, farm access and long rural runs, nothing at the price touches a properly laid slab: 100mm-plus of the correct mix over compacted hardcore, cut with movement joints so it cracks where we tell it to, not where it wants to. It is also the base of choice under resin, many of our resin drives start life as a concrete pour.

Repair, relay or overlay

Cracked and sunken concrete does not always mean starting again. We assess whether your slab can be repaired, partially relaid, or used as the base for a resin or bond overlay, three very different prices, quoted honestly. Where it is past saving, we dig out, fix the cause (almost always water or a failed sub-base) and relay.

Finishes beyond grey

Brushed, tamped or float finishes for grip; polished concrete for a contemporary look on patios and paths; and pattern imprinted concrete where you want the effect of paving with the strength of a slab, see our imprinted concrete page.
Questions

Concrete Driveways FAQs

How thick should a concrete driveway be?
100mm minimum for cars over a compacted sub-base, more for heavier vehicles, we specify the slab and mix for what you actually park on it.
How soon can I drive on a new concrete drive?
We keep vehicles off for at least 7 days; concrete reaches most of its strength in the first week and full design strength at 28 days.
Can you overlay old concrete with resin?
Often, yes, sound concrete is an ideal resin base. That is a much cheaper route than dig-out, and we will always tell you if your slab qualifies.
