Built from the base up

A resin surface is only as good as what sits under it. Depending on your existing drive we either overlay sound concrete or tarmac, or dig out and build a new permeable base, type 1 hardcore compacted in layers, membrane, and where the job calls for it the VubaMac engineered base, which bonds monolithically with the resin layer. We concrete entrances and thresholds so the resin has a solid shoulder, prime, then trowel the resin in one continuous pour.

What it costs

As a guide: overlays from around £60 to £80 per square metre, full dig-out and rebuild from £120 to £160 per square metre depending on size, access and edging. Our price guide breaks it down honestly, and the price on your written quote is the price you pay. One of our Grantham customers put it best in their Checkatrade review: the quote was "guaranteed would not increase", and it didn't.

How long before I can drive on it?

Walk on it after about 24 hours, drive on it after 48 to 72 hours depending on weather. We confirm timings when we finish the pour.

Will weeds come through a resin driveway?

No rooted weeds come up through a properly installed resin bound surface, there are no joints for them to exploit. Wind-blown seeds can sit on the surface but brush or wash off.

Can you overlay my existing concrete drive?

Usually yes, if it is sound and free of major movement cracks. Boston assesses it at the quote visit and prices both options if there is a genuine choice.

What size driveways do you take on?

Anything from a single-car drive to large frontages, our biggest single installation to date is 235 square metres.
