Soakaways are the invisible half of a good driveway: an underground store of crates or clean stone that takes the rain your surfaces shed and lets it soak into the ground, instead of flooding your threshold or your neighbour's. Drainage is where our family's 50 years of groundworks shows, it is the part of the job you cannot see and should never have to think about again.

What we build

Crate soakaways wrapped in membrane, sized to the area they serve. Linear channel drains across thresholds and garage doors. Eco drains and gullies tied into new drives, like the Skegness project where we dug out, membraned, hardcored and fitted new steps and eco drains as one job. All installed at the right depth, fall and distance from the building.

Fixing wet drives

Standing water on an existing drive usually means a failed or absent sub-base, blocked gullies or nowhere for water to go. We diagnose the cause before quoting, sometimes the fix is a drainage retrofit rather than a new surface, and we will tell you when the cheaper job is the right one.

How big does a soakaway need to be?

It is sized from the area drained and how well your ground soaks, we test and size accordingly rather than guessing.

How far from the house must a soakaway be?

Five metres from any building as a rule. Where plots are tight we design around it, sometimes with attenuation under the drive itself.

Can you add drainage to my existing driveway?

Usually, yes, a channel drain and soakaway retrofit is a routine job for us and considerably cheaper than a new drive.
