Bond or bound? The honest answer

Resin bound is a trowelled, permeable, seamless surface. Resin bond is a scatter system: not porous, slightly textured, extremely high grip. Bound is right for most Lincolnshire driveways and patios; bond earns its place on gradients, heavy-braking areas and anywhere the gravel look matters more than permeability. We quote whichever your job actually needs, and say so plainly at the visit.

Where bond wins

Sloped drives where wheels scrub, farm and paddock entrances, commercial forecourts and footpaths that see gritting in winter. The exposed stone gives a coarse, honest texture that hides tyre marks and takes hard use.

Installed on solid ground

Resin Bond Surfacing FAQs

Is resin bond permeable?
No, the resin film seals the base beneath it. If you need a permeable, SUDS-compliant surface for a front garden, resin bound is the right system and we will tell you so.
Does the stone come loose?
A small amount of surplus aggregate sheds in the first weeks, that is normal for a scatter system. The bonded layer beneath stays fixed, and we return if anything more than that appears.
Which is cheaper, bond or bound?
On a sound existing base, bond is usually the more economical of the two because it uses less material and less preparation.
